First home match a roaring sucess!

Sunday 11th Oct Tor Vs Cheddar minis at Tor

Wow what a morning!

Cheddar brought along teams ranging from U6s to U12s to give Tor minis their first home match of the season

It was a brilliant morning with all the core values of Rugby on show for all to see and cheer- the Tor teams met with stiff opposition from well organised Cheddar teams -all players gave impressive accounts of themselves and  Tor ran out winners of several matches
Many Tor  players are in their very first season, the feedback from coaches was how well they took to the first taste of competition.. and in the case of the U9s contact in a match for the first time!

The car park was full, the club house buzzing, post sausage and chips were flowing, the cake stall did a roaring trade... thank you to all the volunteers that made it happen, may the club continue to go from strength to strength.
Please click on your age group page for more detailed match reports

Monday 5 October 2015

Another great weekend of Rugby..

Well the England dream shuddered to halt but hey ho.. still three  home Nations in it and some cracking games to watch on the horizon ...come and watch them in the Club House !

...meanwhile back to Tor Minis and Juniors  Sunday saw a massively productive training session  with teams U7s upwards getting ready for our first home match of the season next week (11th OCT)

Remember kick of is 10.30 ..so be at the club around 10pm to get warmed up  and ready  a board will be up outside the club house directing players and parents to their teams pitches - coaches and volunteers will be around to direct if needed

Hot food will be laid on for all teams ..including the U5s and U6s

We have added a new page with the rules for the various age group games ...please read

(scroll down the new page to find your age group)

Remember all the coaches and ref's are volunteers, human and prone to make mistakes ! So please respect their decisions within the spirit of the game and making sure the players have fun..

Friday 2 October 2015

Looking forward to a great weekend!

Well its a big weekend in the Rugby World Cup..and its a big weekend for us as its the last week of training  before our first matches !

Can we all remember gum shields for U9s upwards

The last half an hour of training this week the U9s will be Mixing with the U10s to form 3 teams or so for some "mini matches" played to under 9s rules to allow the U9S their first taste of a "real game" with contact ...be it a grab and hold tackle for 3 seconds or a "tower of power ring of steel" low down  tackle -we will referee the matches with the emphasis on "coaching" as we ref  and of course safety of the players will be paramount

The U10s will also get to mix  with some of the U11s again playing to U10s rules

Club House-
The club house has been really busy  during the World Cup which is great ...don't forget to watch your team there on the big screens
The club house is open to all but please respect it- no post training food or feet on the new sofas please - save the jumping about for the pitch!

Monday 21 September 2015

Rugby world cup Fever kicks off..

With the world cup underway its was another great turn out at Tor for training-new recruits to all groups getting stuck in with an eye on the fixture list the first matches only a couple of weeks away

Bacon butties and sausage baps were flowing on the touchline's as were  passes and  side steps on the training pitches, tackle bags were out as U9s got their first taste of tower of power, ring of steel ...taking on the tackle bags this week but next week it will be each other!
So if you didn't pick up your goodie bag this week with gumshield inside can all under 9s upwards bring a gumshield next week -don't forget you need to heat them up and form them to fit prior to using-and its worth having a spare ..or two as they seem to get lost often..(well in this house anyway!)

Thanks again for all your support -The Minis and Juniors team
